Here are the steps to follow to perform this repair. First, remove the side cover of the machine. Then, remove the belt and the pulley. You will then find a long screw located on the top of the drum cover. This screw holds a clamp that secures the cover to the drum disconnection resistor and thermal fuse. Inside the cover, you will find the bearing and the shaft seal. Both of these elements need to be replaced. To access them, remove them from the top of the loading access. In the center of the left side, you will find a plastic cover. Use a screwdriver to pry it off. Inside, you will find an Allen head screw. Remove this screw, then pull the drum shaft from the already disassembled side into the tank. You will also find the bearing support in the tank. To remove it, remove the 5 screws holding it in place. Replace the bearing support and the retaining ring. Finally, reassemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly. You are now able to change the drum bearings of your XXX_BRAND_XXX AVTL60 washing machine.
