How to read belt numbers

Hoover

Tip of the day

The motor of your washing machine HOOVER heats up abnormally. Check that the belt between the two pulleys is not too tight. The distance between the center of each axis is about thirteen centimeters. It is likely that the gearbox is slowing down and the engine is being forced to run.
The spring that goes inside the plastic toothed pinion of the same gearbox is deformed or rusted and is the cause of the engine overheating problem. The distance between the two axles is greater than thirteen centimeters because the diameter of the belt is larger. The wiring and the starting capacitor are also heating up. Check the capacitor and change it if necessary. Check the motor bushings for axial movement to the sides. Slide the rotor and check for continuity from the motor to the housing.
If the motor is damaged, the transmission bearings and belt tension should also be checked. There should be no more than a 10% variation from the rated value. The wiring should be examined for false contacts. It is unlikely that the belt has come loose on this type of washer. If the condenser no longer works when the belt is loose, the malfunction is not the belt but the motor which is shorted.
If the motor is worn and damaged, you should check the transmission box because the internal gears could be damaged, damaging the motor when using the washing machine. To check that the transmission box is locked, you should remove the belt from the washing machine HOOVER, unplug the machine and turn the transmission box pulley to see if it brakes or if a noise is heard.
