The motor of the dryer is making noise and the drum can no longer turn during the spinning phase. The belt has probably failed. The belt is the spare part that ensures the transmission between the drum and the motor. Without the belt, the dryer cannot function properly. After several wash cycles, the belt may wear out or break. Check the condition of the belt. Disassemble the part at the back of your machine by removing the screws. Check to see if the belt is not broken. If it is still in place, it may be loose. Manually turn the pulley to see if the belt slips during rotation. Remove the belt and check to see if it is worn and needs to be replaced. If it is in good condition, it can be replaced and tightened. If not, get a new belt, making sure you get the correct part number. The belt model number appears on the part. To reinstall the belt, position it around the small motor pulley and then along the drum pulley until the belt tension makes it difficult to do so. Rotate the drum pulley so that the belt snaps into place. Start a wash program without putting any laundry in the drum. If the drum does not spin properly or a loud noise persists, the dryer will likely need to be replaced.
