A safety system was activated for the transport of the dryer to block the drum. Since then, when the machine starts, the drum spins as if it were braking and a smell of burnt cable emanates from the machine. Remove the drive belt and check if the motor is running during the wash than during the spin. Manually rotate the agitator from side to side to see if there is any resistance. If so, it's a transmission problem and should be checked. Lower the drum and remove the belt. If when you put the washing machine back into operation it shows the same malfunction, it will be necessary to place a new belt compatible with the model of your appliance. Pass the new belt around the small pulley that is connected to the dryer motor. If the belt has grooves, they should be in contact with the pulley. Hold the belt and slide it into the notch on the large pulley connected to the drum. The diameter of a new belt will always be smaller than a used belt that is slack. It will therefore be necessary to force it into position. Then turn the large pulley gradually to insert the belt into the notch.
