A dryer belt loosens during drying cycles. The problem may be due to the condition of the belt. A worn belt will loosen during use of the dryer and slip off its rotation axis. The flywheel bearing should be replaced and others if it is badly worn and makes a lot of noise, especially when it spins. The dryer may have bearing problems. If one of the bearings is severely damaged, the drum falls forward and this causes off-center rotation and the belt comes off To check, remove the belt by pulling it towards you and hold the steel drum. Then move the drum sideways and up. If there is play, the dryer has bearing problems and should be replaced. Change the bearings and seals. A worn belt will not turn the drum. Find the part number. This is usually found on the original belt. Be sure to use a model that is compatible with the dryer. Wrap the new belt around the motor shaft and tighten it to secure it to the edge of the drum. To tighten the belt, slowly rotate the drum. The belt will snap into place as it rotates. When the belt is installed and tightened, run a wash program to verify that the belt remains properly installed on the spindle.
