A loud noise occurs during the drying cycles. It is possible that the load of laundry in the drum is too heavy. An overloaded drum may come off its axis due to the counterweight, which explains the abnormal noise heard after starting the program. Check the bearings of the machine HOTPOINT. The bearings are located on the drum axle and their role is to support the drum. If the bearings wear out, the drum can no longer function optimally, which can lead to the drum coming off its axis of rotation, due to the counterweight generated, and a rather unpleasant noise.
If you hear repeated rubbing noises while spinning your drum by hand, it's a sign that the bearings need to be replaced. Even if only one bearing has a problem, you should change both bearings at the same time. Remove the belt from the HOTPOINT dryer and check how the cycle is running. Also check the motor, the brushes and make sure the belt is not dry.
The noise does not occur if there are no clothes in the drum. Check that the motor is running properly without the belt and that there are no small sparks towards the carbon brushes. If it seems to you that the tip of the motor to which the belt is connected is moving faster than the belt, i.e., it is slipping a little but is somewhat out of sync the malfunction may be due to the belt being too dry. Put some lubricant on the part.
