The dryer does not work. Turn on the appliance with clothes in the drum. The timer is retracing its course, but does not seem to be turning. Remove the back panel of the machine to access the belt and check its condition. The motor housing is very hot. Check the condition of the capacitor. Remove the belt and manually rotate the drum to see if there is any resistance or abnormal noise when rotating. The belt allows the drum to rotate during the drying cycles. If the belt is loose or damaged, it will not be able to drive the drum. If the belt is just loose, it may be sufficient to tighten it. But if the belt shows signs of wear, it should be replaced so that the dryer can operate properly. Pull the belt out of the dryer. Get a new belt, making sure it is compatible with the dryer. There are different types of belts available. Slide the belt into the motor section, connecting it to the edge of the drum. Rotate the motor shaft so that the belt gradually moves into place and tightens. Run a drying program without putting a load in the drum to make sure the belt stays in place as the drum rotates.
