Top Questions

How to repair your appliance? Experts will help you...

To begin, you need to remove the belt from the dryer. Then, you must remove a long screw located on the top of the drum cover. This screw holds a clamp that closes the cover onto the drum. Once the screw is removed, you can remove the cover, being careful of a rubber seal located between the cover and the tank. If you need to put this rubber seal back in place, use Fastix or a similar sealant during assembly. Before removing the cover, make sure to disconnect the heating element and the fixed thermostat. It is important to mark the wires to avoid mistakes during reassembly. In some models, you may also find a mechanical temperature sensor. Do not cut the cable of this sensor, simply remove it from the washer it is attached to, and then replace it with contact cement. In the dryer cover, you will find the roller and the drum shaft retainer. These parts should be replaced if they are damaged.
