Tip of the day

The assembly of a dryer belt may seem complicated, but with a little patience and technique, it is possible to repair it yourself without calling in a technician. The first step is to check that the pulleys are in good condition. To do this, disassemble both pulleys and place them on a flat surface to check that they are not bent. Poor pulleys will not allow the belt to stay in place on the rotation axis during wash cycles. Get a belt that is compatible with the dryer. There are different types of belts and different diameters.
The belt model is marked on the original belt, usually printed on the rubber part. When installing the belt and passing it through the belt tensioner, it should be tensioned while blocking the motor so that it does not move from right to left, making it difficult to tighten the new part. Some machines are equipped with a system to tension the belt. If this is not the case, after connecting the two pulleys with the belt, turn the large pulley by hand to gradually tighten the belt. The belt should be tight enough to drive the drum during the wash cycles, but it should not be too tight as it may break. Turn the drum manually from right to left to see if you feel any resistance.
Start a wash program and check that the belt is still correctly in place on the rotation axis.
