The laundry is not dry at the end of the drying program. There are several reasons for the dryer to malfunction. Check the condenser. If it is clogged, the air will not circulate normally and the clothes will not be dry. Clean the filter. The accumulation of fibers or textile residues will prevent it from working properly. Check to see if during the drying cycle the drum is able to turn. If it does not turn, the belt may be broken or loose. The drive belt runs around the drum and is connected to the motor. Turn the drum by hand. If you feel no resistance, the belt needs to be replaced.
To change the belt, unplug the dryer, remove the filter, disconnect the electrical cables, remove one of the side walls of the unit and check the belt condition. Position the new belt around the drum. Slide the belt around and position it in the groove where the old one was. Wrap the new belt around the motor pulley. The motor is the large metal assembly in the bottom corner of the dryer. Locate the pulley that turns at the front end and wrap the belt around it, positioning it in the center groove. The belt will tighten as you attach it to the idler pulley and lift the drum back into the unit. Also test the drive belt that runs from the motor to the pulley. Make sure it doesn't look too stretched or damaged.
If you start the Blomberg tumble dryer, the motor makes noise. You may also smell a burning odor, and your Blomberg clothes dryer is not functioning properly. It's time to change the belt, and it's cheap. It takes 15 minutes to replace a belt, and we ship all belts (poly-Vee, drive belt) within 24 hours.
