The dryer starts properly but stops during the drying cycle. The drum does not turn. It is possible to turn the drum manually from right to left, but a rubbing noise can be heard. If the motor rotor turns and the belt does not, the belt must be replaced because it has failed. If the motor is powered by a capacitor, it may be necessary to replace it with a new one with values equal to those indicated on the old capacitor. If the capacitor does not take the dryer, check the brushes or brushes in the motor which may be severely depleted and need to be replaced. Remove the belt and start the dryer without heating the resistors. Select the cold spin program and observe the behavior of the motor rotor throughout the stage. To change the belt of the dryer, unplug the appliance and remove the filter and electrical cables. The disassembly procedure differs slightly from one dryer model to another. Position the belt around the drum. Shim the drum so that it is in the same position as in the machine. Slide the belt around the two pulleys and position it in the groove where the old one was. Wrap the belt around the motor pulley. Locate the pulley that turns at the front end and wrap the belt around it, positioning it in the center groove. Gently rotate the drum to make sure the belt is properly positioned in the groove and that everything is assembled correctly.
