The belt of the washing machine is slack. The drum is no longer able to turn at a sufficient speed to allow the spinning phase to proceed normally. The laundry remains soaked at the end of the cycle. Some washing machines are equipped with a system to tighten the belt. Older models do not have this function. However, it is possible to tighten the belt manually. The condition of the pulleys should be checked. The pulley is placed on the side for a machine with top loading, at the back for a washing machine with front loading. The role of the pulley is to connect the motor, the belt and the drum. It is necessary to check on the one hand its condition, on the other hand that it is well tightened. If the pulleys are in poor condition, the belt, even if new, will not stay in place on the rotation axis during the wash cycles. Place the pulleys on a flat surface and check for bending. If the condition is not correct, they should be replaced. Also check that the malfunction is not due to the motor. Remove the belt and pulleys. Get a new belt, making sure it is compatible with the model of the washing machine. To easily install the new belt, you can apply dry Marseille soap to the part to lubricate it.
