The stainless steel tub of the washing machine does not turn. It is blocked. The belt of your washing machine may be completely disconnected from the pulleys and is then at the bottom of the machine. The belt is used to transmit the energy from the motor rotation to the drum. If the belt is out of alignment or out of order, it can prevent the washing machine from turning properly. If you hear the motor turning but the drum is not moving, the belt is either out of alignment or broken. In this case, the easiest thing to do is to remove it completely. Then check its condition by inspecting the entire length of the belt. If it shows signs of wear, if it is cracked, slightly twisted or too stiff, it should be replaced, otherwise it will keep coming off its axis. Unplug the appliance and remove the panel from the washing machine. Place the new belt around the small motor pulley. If the belt has grooves, be sure to place them over the grooves on the motor pulley. Smooth side out. Hold the belt at the small pulley so that it does not come off. Position the belt along the drum pulley until the belt tension makes it difficult to handle. Hold the belt at the small pulley and, while holding it firmly, rotate the drum pulley so that the belt is gradually inserted. Slowly continue this movement until the belt is fully seated on the drum pulley and release it.
