The washing machine motor turns but jams when it is turned clockwise. When opening the drain, it is impossible to turn the shaft by hand. Remove the belt and check by hand whether the motor manages to turn or not. Remove the pulley. Take out the gearbox. Release the brake manually. The pulley turns well to the right, as does the motor. It even turns to accommodate the four screw holes on the inside. The plastic ring that is bolted to the top of the drum should not be loose. Check the condition of the pulley and belt. If the belt is damaged, it should be replaced. Place the belt in the center of the motor and place the other end of the belt on one side of the pulley. Pinch the belt against the bracket and rotate the pulley. The belt will naturally fall into place. Use your hand to rotate the belt a few times to check for proper placement. If necessary, re-center the part on its axis of rotation. Replace the panel on the back of the washer and tighten the screws.
