The drum of the washing machine does not work anymore. The malfunction may be due to the belt or the condenser. Remove the belt and check if the motor is working normally. It is possible to put a load on the drive pulley to see if the motor loses power. If so, the motor may be damaged and should be replaced. The capacitor should be tested by removing the belt and turning on the motor. Use a piece of wood to leverage the drive pulley to see if the motor is losing power. Check the condition of the belt. If the drum does not turn, it may be due to a defective belt. It may be loose or worn. In this case, it fails to drive the drum during the wash cycle. Check the belt model, its diameter, and find the part number that appears on the original belt. The same type of belt should be used for the repair so that it is compatible with the washing machine model. Position the belt around the small drive pulley. If the belt has grooves, they should be placed over the grooves on the drive pulley. The smooth side of the belt will then be positioned towards the outside. While holding the belt at the small pulley, position it along the drum pulley until you get the correct tension. Rotate the drum pulley so that the belt gradually moves into place. Test for proper belt placement by rotating the large pulley to ensure that the belt does not come off its axis. Manually drive the large pulley to make several turns. If the belt stays in place, it is well positioned.
