The vertical loading washing machine no longer spins the laundry. When the spin cycle starts, the motor is running but the drum pulley remains fixed. If the washing machine washes normally and during the spin cycle the motor turns but the pulley does not move, the belt may be slack. Give it more tension and check that it is driving the pulley properly. Rotate the motor pulley to make sure it is not jammed. Remove the belt and check if the motor is running during the spinning process. If the motor is running without a belt, the problem is in the transmission of the machine. If the drum pulley seems to jam and not move during the spinning process, which does not happen during the washing process, the malfunction is due to the belt, which may be too loose or worn out. Move the drum pulley manually to see if the drum is still stuck. It is possible that the bearings in the gearbox are jammed and this is preventing the spin basket from turning. Remove the belt and check to see if the motor is running during the spinning process. If it does so without a belt, the problem is with the washing machine's transmission.
